Maternity clothes? pants only maternity, tops mixed

Sleep: great
Best moment this week: first birth preparation class

Movement: a lot

Looking forward to: so many things, all the classes i am going to take, feeling the baby, my husband.. and I am really excited for the baby to be born, but hopefully not very soon..

My love for Hijab

Sometimes you need a small reminder to tell you how lucky you are for having what you have. By watching that video I just remembered (eventhough I never forgot) how much I really love my Hijab!



First of all I wear Hijab to obey and please Allah in the very very first place and there are a couple more reasons why I love my Hijab so much. And by talking about Hijab I mean headscarf and abaya.

Hijab makes me feel protected and valued.
Hijab makes me feel beautiful, when I wear it outside and when I don't wear it infront of my husband and close family members.
The fact that I cover outside makes me feel even more special and pretty when i dress up for my husband.
Wearing Hijab simply makes me feel good, remembering Allah and knowing I am doing right.
Even though I tried to replace my abaya by wearing a coat (turkish style) I came back to my abaya because it's the only thing that truly makes me feel comfortable.
Sometimes when I am sick i wear Hijab at home because it makes me feel comfortable and protected.

Alhamdoulilah that Allah gave us this great way to please him by feeling so wonderful at the same time. I don't want to miss my Hijab ever!

Pregnancy update at 24 weeks and 3 days

yes i know.. long time no knews from me, but i am still here and still pregnant alhamdoulilah!
Last week we had babys doppler screening or what ever the true name of that scan is and my doctor took a 3D picture of our little baby boy, subhanallah!!!
My pregnancy so far is going amazing and i really enjoy being pregnant. The only thing that bothers me a little bit is that i startet to feel fatty but alhamdoulilah my husband is amazing at making me feel pretty and attractive even with some kilos more... and speaking about kilos: from the beginning of february to the middle of this months i have gained 6 kg!!!
The doctor said that is too much in a too short period of time and that i should take care and next months i have to be tested for gestational diabetes. But inshallah kheir! I don't see big changes in my body, it's only really my belly that it growing like crazy!

So here are my pregnancy questions:

How far along? 24 weeks and 3 days

Total weight gain: 8.5 kg

Maternity clothes? yes, all pants and some tops

Stretch marks? not yet alhamdoulilah

Sleep: very good alhamdoulilah

Best moment this week: seeing the baby on 3D screen last week

Miss anything? being thin

Movement: a lot

Anything making you queasy or sick: fried or cooked salmon

Gender: boy

Labor signs: none alhamdoulilah

Symptoms: my hips are hurting quite often, i feel sleepy since two days, my belly is growing so much that i feel the skin stretching and hurting every two-three days. If i sit too long my ribs are really hurty.

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or moody most of the time: happy and relaxed but since yesterday i feel quite sad/angry/moody

Looking forward to: going to germany in the end of april and starting my classes (childbirth, childcare etc.)

where to give birth - FERA

I am currently on a tour to find the best place to give birth to my son. First I thought it might be too early for that, considering the fact that my due date is only after four months but the presence of pregnant ladies in their first trimester prooved me wrong, as well as the fact that two of now three places that i have visited so far were already full for the month of july!

well, here is a short summary of the first place that i visited:

The FERA birthing center:
what makes FERA special is the fact that it is a combination of a typical birthing center combined with three doctors that are always available and present in the end of every birth.
The bringing ladies were very sympathic, warm and friendly.
The center has two birthing rooms, one very small and equiped only with one bed and nothing else:

the second room has a bed with some equipment to hang on :) and a bath tub to give birth in:

although i was disapointed by the smal room i really liked the big birthing room.

The only negative fact that makes me definitely not consider this birthing center for my self is the fact that out of three doctors, two are male and that they will be present in any case, be it an emergency or not.

Pregnancy update week 19

How far along? 19 weeks and 0 days

Total weight gain: 2.5 kg at last doctors appointment, i don't weight myself.

Maternity clothes? no, but i am really loking forward to buy some once i am in germany since my belly has gotten really big!

Stretch marks? no

Sleep: very good and long (about 11 hours daily), 1-2 bathroom breaks.

Best moment this week: everytime he is kicking and seeing my belly getting bigger and bigger

Miss anything? not really

Movement: yes, not all the time but every now and then.

Food cravings: none

Anything making you queasy or sick: salmon

Gender: boy

Labor signs: none, alhamdoulilah

Symptoms: my belly feels hurty and really tight and my ribs also feel to small

Belly button in or out? almost flat

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or moody most of the time: happy

Looking forward to: having him kick so much that my husband can feel it too, that would be lovely!

We are going to have a little baby boy, inshallah!
