Lifestyle change - Life change? Style change?

Since 2007 I am wearing Abaya and I love my Abayat, they feel and look like ME!

But still I felt like it was time for some change, nothing major but still something fresh.

So here is my new style:

A long blouse combined with straight leg pants...

I think it's very elegant while still being practical for my actual lifestyle as I can nurse in it and I don't step on it like I do on my Abayat.

I'm loving it so far!

Abaya - during pregnancy?

Since most of abayas are cut to cover a ladies body and curves, most abaya models can be worn during pregnancy as well.
But there are some styles which are specially suited for maternity as they are very wide cut or ajustable.
Here are some of the styles which are extra suitable and which i have in my closet already:

The first and most "common" front closed style. These might be a bit revealing and curve-hugging in the last trimester, but that depends on the model.

A second, more flexible option is the shoulder-closed style. The sides are open and therefore adapt perfectly to the growing belly. In the last months it might be advisable to wear this style only with maxi dresses or skirts for optimal coverage. The same goes for the front-open abayas.
Both of these styles are also perfect for nursing mothers as they allow direct access.

Another very concealing style is the butterfly abaya. They come in a sleeved butterfly and in the full butterfly version.
Both versions have lots of fabric on the sides to provide room for a growing belly. If extre fabric is needed, the seems can be very easily adjusted.
Both models are also suited for breastfeeding since they provide a 9 inch front closure that allows easy access.

I love all my abayas and cannot wait to see them grow with my belly!

Maternity Fashion

For quite some time I thought that i don't need to buy extra maternity wear. And for the most part i still think like that. I plan to wear leggings which i can roll down so they don't sqeeze my belly, long t-shirts and to go out ill wear my abayas or one of my maxi dresses.

But at the same time there are so many wonderful maternity clothes available that i can't resist to show them at least.

Walking in high heels..

I just came across a very funny youtube video (do I seam addicted to youtube?) teaching how to walk in high heels.



I am always wondering why ladies have issues with high heels, why so many of them can't figure out how to walk in them?
i never had this problem, I have a lot of heels, many of them really high and I can walk in almost all of them flawlessly.
The only pair I cannot walk in cause me problems because the sole of the shoes are too hard so that I cannot bend my feet when walking.
Apart from that I have only issues with hurting and burning if the shoes are bad quality or I wear them too long.
I have so many lovely pairs of high heels and I left them all back in germany, except for two pairs I brought with me to look at because I don't wear heeld here.
Actually I don't really know why I don't wear heals anymore, maybe because of the lack of special occasions to wear them?
When I was back in germany I wear them almost every day, for university, shopping, whatever.. hmm talking about them makes me really miss them... (crazy?!)

Well, I could go on an on about how much I love high heels and how much I miss wearing them but I wont, at least not right now and not in that post..

Actually I don't like colourful or patterned clothing..
But this is defenitively an huge exeption!!!

Via Uno

Via Uno is a brazilian brand I am passionately in love with since I bought my first pair of Via Uno shoes 2003 in Brazil. I still own, love and wear those first pieces of treasure..
Via Uno is high quality that will last you years.. in my case it lasts since 7 years!!!


Via Uno has not only shoes but also matching purses, belts, wallets, jewelery and all kind of other accessories.. altough I like quite some of the pieces I have to admit that I dont own a single one..


But the shoes I really love and I am extremely willing to invest in a pair of Via Unos whenever I have the chance to come across a Via Uno store which is unfortunately extremely rare..

I think these are my favorite clothing colours ever... too sad I don't have so many pieces in that colours though ;)




I own this jacket, I got it few days a go for 50% less, thanks so french sales-season.
And I would like to mention that on me it looks much more elegant :)



I do not like to wear long skirts so much.. but this is defenitively very very beautyful..
I also dont like this kind of light colours for pants/skirts etc.

Abaya Heaven..

I was always wondering were Abayas come from.. and I mean the happy, lovely and amazing ones, not the Abayat that look old and cheap, but the ones that can win your heart in one touch and sight.. the ones that are simple, soft, classy, elegant and covering..
in other words: all I long for in an outergarment!

I had the luck to get to know their home and to discover the Abaya heaven...

Just in case you ever wondered how the Abaya heaven is called... its called SunnahStyle.. could there be any name more appropriate then that?
Hmmm and how does the Abaya heaven feels?
Just let me say: silky, soft and smooth...

Usually I make my Abayas myself.. but it is hard to find good fabric that is floating and not see-trough and then it takes time and a sewing machine, two things I dont have at the moment. Last time I bought an Abaya in Paris, together with "ma robe de Paris".. it is pretty nice and has the about the same price as the ones from SunnahStyle which is usually under 40€ but the quality of fabric and sewing is not at all comparable with SunnahStyle..
Sooo... that means that as long as I can I will always return to the Abaya Heaven to visit all the lovely angels there and see if I can take one of them home with me... So basicly its like having a piece of heaven at home..
